According to a report by Israel Hayom, the most-salaried Israeli surgeons in 2015 earned an average of 8,300 shekels ($1,300) per day.
This is the highest salary of any of Israel’s medical professionals, according to the organization.
However, the top earning surgeons in Israel are still far behind their peers in the United States and the United Kingdom, earning an average salary of 2,300 to 2,500 shekeles per day, according the report.
A report by the National Association of Surgeons (NAOS) showed that surgeons working in the U.S. are paid an average annual salary of $103,800.
The median salary for surgeons working internationally is $111,600.
The top performing surgeons in the world are all located in the Western world, the report found.
The average annual income for an Israeli surgical resident is $85,000, according an analysis by Israeli news outlet Haaretz.
The average salary for a surgical resident in the UK is $82,600 and the average salary in the US is $80,500.
According to the NAOS, there are around 8,600 Israeli surgical residents working in Israel.
According to the report, surgeons working at the country’s top-ranked hospitals earn an average monthly salary of over $1,800, and the salaries of the top performing specialists are between $700,000 and $900,000.
In 2015, the National Hospital for Surgery, Tel Aviv University, and Givat Ze’ev Hospital in Jerusalem were among the top 20 hospitals in the globe with the highest average annual salaries.
In contrast, Israel’s second-ranked hospital, El-Farok Hospital in the West Bank, was ranked in the bottom five of the list with an average yearly salary of just over $600, the NAOM said.
According for the report published by Israel’s Hebrew-language newspaper Haaretz, the median annual salary for an American surgical resident working in a hospital is $89,000 in 2015.
According the NAOs median salary is $90,200.
