The NFL announced on Monday that it has removed the surgical mask cap from its player uniforms for all games.
That means the Seahawks’ helmets will now be worn without the cap, and the 49ers’ helmets won’t have the cap on their helmets either.
The move comes after a series of incidents involving the caps and helmet.
Last week, the NFL suspended four players for wearing the caps while playing for the New York Giants, and it was reported that the cap was involved in a collision with a teammate during a game against the Minnesota Vikings.
In both cases, players were fined.
The league has also announced that it is also removing the mask cap for games in 2016, including Sunday night’s game against Atlanta.
