The future may be of surgical masks that are disposable, but the reality may be something closer to a disposable mask.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is working on a new, lightweight surgical glove for use in surgery.

According to a patent filed last week, the new gloves will use a flexible, silicone-coated nylon material.

The patent describes the glove as having a flexible layer that “is not only flexible but also extremely soft and durable.”

The glove is expected to be available sometime in 2020.

The gloves are being developed for the U.K. and other countries.

The patent says the gloves are intended for use by surgeons who are able to “move quickly and comfortably around the operating table, while avoiding the pressure of blood flow through the skin.”
